FEAR NOT...
..sorry everyone.

The article is an old one which was published in a collection of his writings called "Polaroids from the dead". The bridge isn't actually in any immediate danger.

'Spose that serves me right for not properly citing my entries. Sorry folks.
I shall try to update again for real in the next couple days.

KT

Well, that's good to hear - as I'm off on holiday to Vancouver in 2 weeks and would have been really distressed to find the bridge missing ;)

You could put the bridge in danger to keep your journal valid and credible. ;)

hm...I dunno if that would be such a good idea....
lol I can see Katie standing on the railing of the bridge now with flamethrower in one hand and chainsaw in the other......but it doesn't seem like a very realistic scene lol

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

That would be a hardcore action movie then

Did Katie ever do anything like this? If she would, i think it would include some comedic scenes too.
Somehow i now end up with imagining a third "Escape from....", where she acts at the side of Kurt Russel and under the direction of John Carpenter.

Wich actually might be a brilliant idea.

Well, either way, your post encouraged me to investigate the bridge more and as I'm planning on visiting Vancouver at some point in April, and I decided it was a very photogenic bridge.

I feel like such a tourist for even saying that.

Hi, Katie! This is Michael over at RadioFree.com. (Yeah, I know this is coming up as "anonymous" and it could really be anyone. But honestly, no one ever gained a darn thing by pretending to be me, so...) I hate to be the tool that interrupts your lovely editorials with Hollywood trash, but I thought I'd drop you a line. I caught a screening of She's the Man a couple weeks ago, and there are two scenes with you in the final cut.

So will you be coming to Los Angeles to join the publicity machine? I assume the answer is "No" since your name isn't listed with the press day's participating talent. But then again, couldn't the answer just as easily be, "Why yes, I'll catch a plane today and immediately fly down to your quaint little city, where I will parade around with a limo, entourage, and sparkling tiara"?

In either event, it was nice seeing you on the big screen again. Keep on keeping on!!!

Michael

I would hardly call them 'lovely editorials' either. Particularly recently. Besides I love Hollywood trash.

As for the "She's the man" premiers etc, being a (proud) Canadian actor, we tend to get forgotten about up here in the arctic and we don't hear about such exciting newses as premiers. Mostly though I only (as you said) showed up in two scenes, so I would just be another one of those endless faces at a premier who you feel maybe you should remember for some reason, but you just can't remember if I had anything to do with the movie or if I'm just someones arm candy. ;) just kidding.

But to answer your question, no...I don't think I'll be attending any of the L.A. hubub. However, I do plan to head down there pretty soon for some fun and general tom-foolery/maybe some work...time allowing ;)

Thanks for keeping me up to date though. Glad to hear that the movie is being well recieved. I knew it would be. The crew and cast were all pretty spectacular. And of course with the indisputable Andy Fickman running the show, you know it's going to be great.

KT

Ps. Anyone who has a serious appreciation for good musical theatre, and who laughs themself stupid any time they watch "Reefer Madness" should really check out Andy Fickman's recent remake. "Reefer Madness: the movie musical". Such brilliance. I wish I had known about it while it was still on stage.

Seeing that today is the 15th of march (one month after my birthday) and your birthday being the 22nd of that month and that being seven days away, i realized one could legitimatly say that your coming birthday is one week away, being the 21st, wich is, in northern American countries and some others too, quite a milestone in personal history.
On the other hand, one could see it like Jerry Seinfeld, who says you just celebrate that you managed not to die for another year.

Manuel, closing with an "Happy Unbirthday"-wish from here

And i dont have a region-code free DVD-Player.

So, I'm watching the 1st Season of SG-1, and I get to "Singularity"...I'm thinking, "Wow, what a great performance by that girl. I wonder if she's done anything since then?" Now I find out she's not only NOT a girl anymore, she's now.....an adult ***cringe***! How did this happen, and where was *I*??? I must've missed that memo (I didn't get the one about using new cover sheets on the TPS Reports, either!)
Well, anyway, it's reassuring to know that I wasn't the only one who stayed 19 until turning 21.
KT, if you're still thinking of coming down here to SoCal, I suggest you do it in the next couple of months - the weather should be awesome. It's my favourite time of year for mountain biking. I think L.A. has some of the most beautiful areas in the world...if you know where to look. (Happily, I do!)
Anyway, Happy Belated B-Day, Kate! Remember, "21" is just a number -- if you still feel like you're a teenager (like I do), there's no reason why you can't act like one. So, good luck with X-3!

~D
